KF 310 uPVC/Aluminum Windows: Colour Outside, Warm uPVC Inside
The KF 310 uPVC/Aluminum wraps Internorm’s compact six-chamber uPVC window in a powder-coated aluminum weather shell. You gain the full exterior colour range and all three KF 310 design styles, with a frame just 74 mm deep and the same Uw as low as 0.69 W/m²K.

What the aluminum shell adds
Inside, this is the same insulating window as the all-uPVC KF 310: a six-chamber frame, three continuous gaskets and I-tec Glazing bonding the glass to the sash. Outside, a shell of Grade A aluminum faces the weather instead of the uPVC. The cladding takes construction depth from 71 mm to 74 mm and leaves the thermal and acoustic figures unchanged.
That shell changes three things. It lets the exterior take on a true architectural colour, from jet black RAL 9005 to fine-textured and metallic finishes, to match fascia, soffits or metal roofing. It shields the uPVC from direct sun, hail and wind-driven grit. And Internorm’s highly weather-resistant powder coatings keep the colour even with nothing more than an occasional rinse.
It also unlocks a third design style. The square-edged home pure KF 310 is made only as a uPVC/aluminum window, so if you want crisp contemporary lines at the compact KF 310 depth, this is the version to choose. If you would rather keep uPVC on both faces and skip exterior colour decisions altogether, the all-uPVC KF 310 is the simpler specification. Need blinds between the panes in some rooms? The KV 350 is built to the same 74 mm depth.
- Modern and transitional homes that need a specific exterior colour
- Elevations with strong southern or western sun exposure
- Owners who want the home pure look in a compact, value-focused system
Three design styles, one compact frame
With the aluminum shell, every KF 310 design style is available. Each changes the character of the frame and sash, so pick the one that suits the architecture and the rooms behind it.

home pure: square-edged
Square edges and straight lines suit contemporary architecture, flat-roof additions and modern farmhouses. On the KF 310 this style is offered only with aluminum cladding.

home soft: rounded
Gently rounded edges create a harmonious, timeless frame that works in nearly any home, a natural fit for renovations where the windows should feel calm rather than make a statement.

ambiente: contoured
Contoured, profiled edges bring traditional detailing to the frame, ideal for heritage-inspired facades that still want a modern, durable colour outside.

A colour card made for facades
Internorm’s standard aluminum colours are highly weather-resistant powder coatings, with one exception: M916, which is facade quality. The standard card for the KF 310 lists M916, a run of HM shades such as HM704 and HM716, and the RAL colours 9005 and 7032.
For more texture, the hirest range uses a special highly weather-resistant powder coating in HF (fine structure) and HFM (fine structure metallic) finishes. HDS colours are intensive tones where slight variation is expected, and EL01 matt and EL02 gloss give the cladding a stainless-steel look.
Two practical details complete the picture. The external gasket can be light grey or black, so dark cladding is not outlined by a pale seal. And inside, the frame stays uPVC: white, a decor colour or one of thirteen I-tec Decor prints. Because the two faces are different materials, a charcoal house can still have bright white frames in the kitchen.
Built for decades outdoors
Reinforced all the way round
The frame is insulated and reinforced through 360 degrees, and the uPVC-aluminum hybrid expands and contracts less than many single-material frames. That stability helps keep seals tight from July heat to January cold.
Quieter rooms
Triple perimeter gaskets and bonded glazing bring sound reduction to as much as 45 dB, a real difference on a busy street or under a flight path.
Bonded glass
I-tec Glazing glues the pane to the sash along its full perimeter, improving stability, burglary resistance, thermal insulation and sound reduction together.
Low-carbon glass
Internorm’s Low Carbon iplus glazing is standard. Its float glass contains at least 50% recycled content and generates around 45% less CO₂ in manufacture than standard float glass.
Double or triple glazing?
The KF 310 uPVC/Aluminum can be built with double or triple insulating glass. For a Canadian winter, triple is the sensible default. Internorm puts the trade-off simply: choosing triple thermal glazing over double lets you add around 40% more glass area without raising your heating costs.
With triple glazing and the best glass package, the window reaches a Uw as low as 0.69 W/m²K, or 0.76 W/m²K with the standard coating. Between the panes, wafer-thin coatings reflect heat back into the room and argon or krypton gas slows conduction across the cavity. The warmer inner pane is what removes the chill you feel standing beside an ordinary window on a −20°C night.
A very efficient window can occasionally show light condensation on the outside of the glass on a cold, clear morning. That is not a defect: so little heat escapes that the outer pane stays close to the outdoor temperature, and the moisture clears once the sun reaches it.
Security without visible hardware
The KF 310 uPVC/Aluminum reaches resistance class RC 2 with fully concealed locking and hinges, so nothing on the frame offers a purchase point. Add laminated safety glass, lockable handles or opening sensors that report whether each window is open, tilted or locked. For RC 3 and I-tec Secure flap locking, look at the KF 510 or KF 520.
Opening configurations
Tilt & turn is the heart of the system: tilt the sash inward at the top for secure, rain-safe ventilation, or swing it fully open to clean the outside glass from indoors. The KF 310 uPVC/Aluminum can also be built as turn-only, tilt-only or fixed units, multi-sash frames, balcony doors and side doors in the same exterior colour.

KF 310 uPVC/Aluminum FAQ
No, and it is not meant to. The insulation comes from the six-chamber uPVC frame, the gaskets and the glass, so the KF 310 reaches a Uw as low as 0.69 W/m²K with or without cladding. The aluminum is there for colour, durability and weather protection, and it adds only 3 mm to the construction depth.
The KF 310 colour card covers standard highly weather-resistant HM colours plus M916 in facade quality, RAL 9005 and RAL 7032, the textured hirest HF and HFM range, intensive HDS tones and EL01 and EL02 stainless-steel looks. Not every colour suits every system, so we confirm availability with your quote.
Yes. The KV 350 uPVC/aluminum window with integrated blinds shares the KF 310’s 74 mm construction depth and is designed to combine with it, so a bedroom or west-facing room can have blinds sealed between the panes while the rest of the elevation matches.
Internorm’s standard colours are highly weather-resistant powder coatings, and its warranty covers powder-coated aluminum profiles against unnatural colour change and cracking. InterHaus rates the KF 310 for an expected service life of more than 40 years with basic care.
