KS 430 uPVC/Aluminum Lift & Slide Door with an Aluminum Weather Shell
A warm uPVC door on the inside, a powder-coated aluminum shell on the outside. The uPVC/aluminum KS 430 keeps the insulation of Internorm’s uPVC lift & slide door and gives the facade an exterior in almost any colour.

A door specified from the outside in
Most people choose the uPVC/aluminum KS 430 for what it looks like from the garden. The insulating core is a multi-chamber uPVC sash and frame with 4 mm walls and triple gaskets; wrapped around its outer face is aluminum cladding that takes the sun, rain, snow and wind instead of the uPVC. The profile grows to 82 mm wide and 203 mm deep to carry that shell.
Because the shell sits on the outside, the published figures do not move: the same 0.64 W/m²K Uw and 33–43 dB that the all-uPVC door achieves. What changes is the colour range, the hardness of the exterior surface and how the door coordinates with the rest of the building.
Typical projects include a dark contemporary infill house where black frames are part of the design, a stone or brick country home where white would look out of place, and a lakefront cottage whose rear wall faces open water and prevailing wind.
What the aluminum cladding opens up
These are the choices that separate this door from the all-uPVC KS 430.
Your RAL colour outside
Order the cladding in a colour from Internorm’s facade-quality RAL programme, or from a standard palette that includes RAL 9005 and RAL 7032.
Hirest powder coatings
Hirest finishes, coded HM, HF and HFM, are powder coatings formulated for high weather resistance, with fine-structure and metallic textures available.
Intense and stainless looks
HDS colours give a deeper, more saturated finish where slight variation is part of the effect. EL01 matt and EL02 gloss are Internorm’s stainless-steel colours.
One facade, mixed interiors
Internorm designs its aluminum cladding to match across uPVC/aluminum and timber/aluminum systems, so door and windows read as one from outside.
Screens in the door colour
Sliding or pleated Harmony insect screens are framed to match the exterior colour and finish, so a bronze door gets a bronze screen.
A separate inside colour
Inside you can still choose white, anthracite grey or an I-tec Decor print, so a dark facade does not dictate a dark room.

Why a 400 kg clad sash still feels light
Lift & slide hardware separates moving from sealing. A turn of the handle raises the sash clear of its seals and onto barrel wheels, and the panel rolls with a gentle push. Bring it home and reverse the turn: the sash drops, its weight closes the gaskets, and the concealed multi-point lock engages.
The cladding is a fixed outer layer, so the clad door and the all-uPVC door operate in exactly the same way. What you feel at the handle is a large, heavy panel moving smoothly, and since the running gear only bears weight while the sash is moving, that feel lasts.
- Lock the sliding sash at any point along its run for secure ventilation.
- The handle glides back to rest instead of snapping, as standard.
- Comfort Drive adds push-button motorised opening from inside.
- Keyless entry from the terrace with an ekey fingerprint reader fitted to the frame.

Built for the elevation that takes the weather
The wall that holds the biggest door is often the most exposed one: the side facing the lake, the open field or the prevailing wind. Here the aluminum face sheds rain and holds its colour and finish, while the uPVC chambers, triple seals and triple glazing behind it keep the room warm. InterHaus places the KS 430’s Uw of 0.64 W/m²K within the Passive House performance range.
The standard iPlus low-e coating lets around 74% of visible light through and, in hot summers, bounces back more solar radiation, which keeps rooms facing south or west brighter in winter and calmer in July. Internorm also reports that the 4 mm iPlus pane cuts its carbon footprint by more than 6 kg CO2-eq/m² compared with its previous 4 mm ECLAZ low-e glass.
For noise, the door reduces outside sound by 33 to 43 dB depending on glazing, a meaningful difference beside an arterial road, a rail line or a busy downtown street.
Layouts, fixed glass and sun control
Specify the clad KS 430 in two, three or four sections on dual tracks, in elements up to 6500 × 2800 mm. For a given size, two sections are the most economical layout; three- and four-section doors suit wider openings, and we can show you the options on your own drawings.
Stationary panels can be rendered over so that, from outside, they read as virtually frameless glass, and the wall finish can overlap the frames inside and out. For a larger fixed panorama in the same elevation, Internorm’s HX 300 frameless glazing is the large-format option.
A wall of glass facing south or west also needs a summer plan. Internorm’s Raffstore exterior Venetian blinds, with adjustable aluminum slats and optional RETROLUX daylight control, are well suited to lift & slide doors and can be combined with flyscreens; pleated flyscreens are another option.
Choosing between the three lift & slide materials
If the exterior matters as much as the interior, this is how the clad KS 430 compares.

Judge the finish in daylight, not on a screen
Powder-coated aluminum is hard to judge from a swatch on a monitor, especially textured Hirest and metallic finishes. Our Oakville showroom displays Internorm windows alongside lift & slide doors, and our architecturally trained product specialists can put real samples beside your brick, stone or siding.
Architects and builders are welcome to bring drawings. We provide technical support on detailing, coordinate the door with the rest of the window package, and offer installation guidance and supervision so the connection to the wall is airtight.
“Absolutely thrilled with our new windows and doors from InterHaus! The quality is exceptional, and the energy efficiency has made a noticeable difference in our home! Viktoriya and Alex were professional, helpful, and made the entire process effortless. The installation was smooth, and the final result completely transformed our space. Couldn’t be happier—highly recommend!”
KS 430 uPVC/Aluminum questions
The aluminum shell adds to the outside of the uPVC profile, so the frame width goes from 80 to 82 mm and the construction depth from 200 to 203 mm. Both sizes are small enough that the same rough opening detail usually works for either version.
Standard colours are highly weather-resistant, with M916 being facade quality. Hirest is Internorm’s family of specially weather-resistant powder coatings, in standard (HM), fine-structure (HF) and fine-structure metallic (HFM) versions. HDS colours are more intense, and slight variation between batches is part of their character.
If those windows are a standard RAL colour, the cladding can usually be ordered in the same RAL code. Bring a sample to the showroom and we will compare it with Internorm’s colour cards before you commit.
Very little. An occasional wash keeps the powder coat looking new. Internorm’s warranty covers anodised and powder-coated aluminum profile surfaces against unnatural colour change and cracks, with full terms in the warranty manual supplied with your products.
Yes, with an ekey fingerprint reader fitted to the door frame. You manage who has access yourself in the ekey bionyx app, with no technician needed. With Comfort Drive, the door also opens at the push of a button from inside.
Any Internorm uPVC/aluminum window, such as the KF 410 uPVC/Aluminum, gives a matching exterior and interior. Timber/aluminum windows can also share the exterior colour if you want wood in other rooms.
