HV 450 Timber/Aluminum Windows with Integrated Blinds
Real timber on the room side, aluminum outside and a blind between the panes. The HV 450 pairs a completely flush frame and sash with Uw as low as 0.62 W/m²K, the best thermal value among Internorm’s windows with integrated blinds.

Timber, aluminum, glass and blind in one unit
Internorm describes the HV 450 as bringing everything together into one unit: a completely flush transition from frame to sash, and sun protection integrated between the panes. Inside, you see and touch timber. Outside, a powder-coated aluminum shell takes the weather. Between the glass, the blind stays protected from dirt and the elements.
It is the window to specify when you want a warm, natural interior and built-in shading in the same opening: a timber-lined living room looking over a lake, a bedroom wing that needs darkness at night, or an architect-designed house where exterior shutters would spoil the elevation.
Of Internorm’s three windows with integrated blinds, the HV 450 has the lowest Uw, at 0.62 W/m²K, and sound reduction of 39 to 46 dB. Its 85 mm depth and 70 mm frame with 38 mm sash match Internorm’s HF 410 timber/aluminum window, which makes the two natural companions on the same project.

Uw depends on window size, glazing and blind. Not every timber finish or colour is available on every window; we confirm options for your project.
Three design styles in timber
To suit the style of your building, the HV 450 comes in home pure, home soft and ambiente.

home pure
Square-edged timber profiles with a contemporary, architectural feel. Lets the grain of oak or walnut do the talking.

home soft
Rounded edges that feel gentle under the hand and read as timeless rather than trendy, at home in country houses and calm modern interiors alike.

ambiente
Profiled, classic detailing for traditional architecture, where a timber window with character suits the trim, floors and staircase around it.

Choose your timber
The room side of an HV 450 is real wood, available in several species and finishes: varnished spruce for a light, Scandinavian feel, varnished larch with a warmer grain, oak for a classic hardwood look, walnut for depth and contrast, or opaque timber when you want a painted finish that still feels like wood.
Timber is a natural product, so every window is unique. The final shade depends on the wood and its finish, and strongly figured species can vary more from printed samples. We can show you original samples so you can judge them against your floors and millwork.
Outside, choose from Internorm’s aluminum finishes: highly weather-resistant standard colours, Hirest fine-structure and metallic finishes, intensive HDS colours, and the stainless-steel look in EL01 matt or EL02 gloss.
What the HV 450 brings
Completely flush
Frame and sash meet in one plane, so the window reads as a single, quiet element in a timber-lined room.
Best Uw in the family
Uw as low as 0.62 W/m²K, ahead of the KV 440 at 0.64 and the KV 350 at 0.79.
Three kinds of blind
Blinds, Venetian blinds or Duette® blinds, all protected from dirt by their position between the panes.
Self-sufficient I-tec Shading
A photovoltaic drive with temperature sensors and day/night recognition, working without any external power source.
Bonded glazing
The glass is bonded all round to the sash, standard in Internorm timber/aluminum windows, for stability and burglary protection.
Concealed locking to RC 2
Quality hardware and concealed locking, with the HV 450 achieving RC 1N and RC 2 anti-burglary standards.
Comfort in a timber room, summer and winter
A large timber-framed window facing south is a pleasure in January and a challenge in July. The HV 450 handles both. In automatic mode, I-tec Shading keeps the Venetian blinds fully open on winter days so the sun can warm the room, and its day/night recognition closes them at sunset.
For bedrooms and media rooms, the opaque Duette® blind gives complete privacy and darkness. In a living room, Venetian slats let you keep the view of the garden or the lake while taking glare off the screen and the sofa.
On energy, Internorm’s timber–thermal foam–aluminum composite gives outstanding insulation at a modest construction depth, and the HV 450 reaches Uw 0.62 W/m²K with the best glass coating. Working toward a high-performance target? See our Passive House page for how we support these projects.
Operation and care
The HV 450 opens as a tilt & turn window, and the integrated blind does not interfere with either movement. Operate the blinds directly at the window, by remote control or through the I-tec Smart Window app, or connect them to your smart home through I-tec Connect.
Care is split by material. Outside, the powder-coated aluminum shell needs no painting or sealing, which is the whole point of putting aluminum on the weather side of a timber window. Inside, treat the timber as you would fine joinery and follow the Internorm Maintenance, Care and Warranties Manual supplied with your windows. The glass needs only a damp cloth and mild cleaner, and the blind stays clean between the panes.
For the long term, Internorm offers a 30-year repair assurance, meaning its products can be repaired over three decades to keep them fully functional.
- No exterior wood to sand, stain or repaint
- No slats to dust, no cords hanging beside the timber
- Blinds can be changed with the clip-on/clip-off system
- Expected service life of 40+ years
HV 450 against the KV 440 and KV 350

“My preferred window supplier for any of our projects with ambitious sustainability or indoor comfort goals. They have been easy to work with, and responsive when I need a problem solved. Internorm products have served me well, and these are the best, most reliable suppliers I have found in eastern Canada.”
HV 450 questions
Spruce, larch, oak and walnut, plus an opaque timber finish. Some species come varnished or oiled. Because not every finish is offered on every window, we confirm the HV 450 options for your project and can show you original samples.
No timber is exposed outside. The weather side is powder-coated aluminum, so there is no exterior staining or repainting. Inside, care for the timber according to the Internorm Maintenance, Care and Warranties Manual.
It reaches Uw 0.62 W/m²K, against 0.64 for the KV 440 and 0.79 for the KV 350. Internorm attributes the performance of its timber/aluminum windows to the timber–thermal foam–aluminum composite, which insulates well at a low construction depth.
Yes. Internorm’s HS 330 timber/aluminum lift & slide door offers colour options designed to combine with the HF 410, HF 510 and HV 450, so a terrace door and the windows around it can share one look.
It runs from its own photovoltaic module and back-up battery. In automatic mode it keeps the Venetian blinds open on winter days to make the most of the sun, which Internorm notes helps reduce heating costs, and its day/night recognition closes them in the evening.
It suits one well. The blind is protected between the panes, so there is no exterior shutter to secure before you leave, the aluminum shell shrugs off lake weather, and with I-tec Connect you can adjust the blinds from your phone while you are away.
