HS 330 Timber/Aluminum Lift & Slide Door
Four timber species on the room side, powder-coated aluminum on the weather side, and sashes of up to 400 kg carrying glass as tall as 3.2 m. The HS 330 brings real wood joinery to a door that still glides open with one hand.
A wood door that leaves the weather to aluminum
You experience a lift & slide door almost entirely from inside: the handle in your hand, the frame beside the sofa, the sash that frames the garden. The HS 330 puts natural timber in all of those places and leaves the exterior to powder-coated aluminum cladding, so the wood never faces sun, rain or snow and the outside never needs painting.
That combination makes the HS 330 the door for timber-framed homes, cottages finished in natural wood, and contemporary interiors with oak floors or walnut millwork that a uPVC frame would interrupt. Internorm pitches it as a premium system that pairs expansive glass with slim frames, and InterHaus rates it for Passive House and Net Zero builds.
It is also built big. Profiles are 103 mm wide and 209 mm deep, glass panels reach 3.2 m in height, and a single sash may weigh as much as 400 kg yet still moves with a light push.
Choosing the interior timber
Every timber surface is factory-finished with a durable varnish or lacquer, so the door arrives sealed and ready to install with no finishing work on site.
Spruce, varnished
A light, even grain for Scandinavian and contemporary rooms. It keeps a pale interior bright and lets the view do the talking.
Spruce, opaque RAL
Spruce is the species that can be painted in any RAL colour, for a door that matches walls, trim or kitchen cabinetry exactly.
Larch, varnished
Warmer and more strongly figured, with a natural, slightly rustic character that suits cottages and timber-frame builds.
Oak
The classic hardwood look, with varnished and oiled finishes, for traditional and transitional interiors with oak floors.
Walnut
The darkest and richest option, for rooms where the door frame should read as fine furniture.
Moving a tall timber sash with one hand
A timber sash with glass up to 3.2 m tall is heavy, so the HS 330 never asks you to drag it along its seals. Turning the handle raises the sash onto its running wheels and frees the gaskets, and from there a light push sends even an oversized panel gliding.
Reverse the turn and the panel settles back down, sealing the opening and taking the load off the rollers while the door is closed. Do that part-way along the track and the sash locks where it stands, ventilating the room on a spring afternoon while the door stays locked.
For very large sashes, Comfort Drive motorises the movement with a push-button, and a fingerprint reader on the frame does away with the key. Screens come in two forms: a sliding screen running on top and bottom rails, or the pleated Harmony screen, which tucks away to the side; both take the exterior colour.
Engineering behind the timber
High-strength LVL core
Laminated veneer lumber gives the frame its load-bearing capacity and resists warping, twisting and movement as humidity swings through the year.
Glass bonded on four sides
The pane is bonded to the frame around its full perimeter, adding stiffness to the sash and making the glass very hard to force out.
Fibreglass threshold
A highly energy-efficient fibreglass threshold keeps the floor-level junction warm, and its low profile is easy to step across.
Concealed multi-point lock
Fully concealed multi-point locking is standard, with an upgrade to the RC 2 resistance class for certified protection against forced entry.
Triple glazing, 48–54 mm
Triple-pane glass with a premium low-e coating for UV protection, which matters when afternoon sun falls on timber and hardwood floors.
Aluminum weather face
The robust exterior resists impact and weathering and requires virtually no maintenance, while the timber stays indoors.

How the HS 330 performs through a Canadian winter
With triple glazing, the HS 330 reaches a Uw as low as 0.73 W/m²K. On paper that is a little above the 0.64 published for the KS 430, and if the lowest possible U-value is the overriding goal the KS 430 uPVC/Aluminum is worth comparing. The HS 330 is the choice when timber and very tall glass matter more than the last few hundredths of a U-value, and it is still well suited to Passive House and Net Zero projects.
Winter discomfort beside big doors usually starts where the door meets the floor and the wall. The HS 330 closes onto compressed gaskets rather than brushes, its fibreglass threshold insulates at floor level, and the LVL core stays dimensionally stable from dry heated winters to humid summers, so the seals keep meeting the frame as designed.
Acoustically, the HS 330 achieves 32–40 dB depending on the glazing selected, through its high-performance sealing system and triple-glazing options. In an open-plan room facing a street, that takes the edge off traffic and city noise.
Big openings, fixed glass and matching windows
Internorm builds the HS 330 to 5800 × 2800 mm as standard, and larger after technical clarification; glass can then reach 3.2 m in height, with a maximum sash weight of 400 kg. Layouts run from two to four sections on dual tracks, and two sections remain the most economical choice for a given size.
For a bigger glass wall, the HS 330 pairs with fixed glazing. Its fixed elements can disappear behind plaster or render, leaving glass that looks almost frameless, or the door can sit beside HX 300 frameless fixed glazing for a full-height panorama.

Draw a 103 mm frame profile, a 178 mm frame-to-sash sightline and 222 mm at the meeting point of two sashes. Fixed panels rendered into the wall lose their visible frame.
Fully concealed multi-point locking is standard and can be upgraded to the RC 2 resistance class. The pane is glued to the frame along all four edges, a detail Internorm cites for both stability and burglary protection.
Yes. Comfort Drive opens and closes the door electrically at the push of a button, which is worth considering for the heaviest timber sashes. Keyless access by fingerprint scanner can be added on the frame.
