Why an Internorm door behaves differently in a Canadian winter
Your entrance door opens dozens of times a day, faces the street and takes the full force of wind-driven snow. Internorm treats it as a complete system rather than a slab in a frame: frame, sash, panel and threshold are designed together, thermally separated and sealed with triple gaskets.
InterHaus offers two families. The AT series is aluminum inside and outside: durable, weather-resistant and low-maintenance, with a bi-colour option so the interior can match your hallway while the exterior matches the facade. The HT series pairs a solid timber interior with an aluminum weather shell, for warmth you can see and touch. Both share the same multi-point locking, and every door is made to measure.

AT 500 · Aluminum
Contoured on the inside and outside. The security leader of the range, offered up to RC 3, with sound reduction up to 40 dB and a U-value as low as 0.91 W/m²K.
AT 520 · Aluminum
All-aluminum door with a U-value as low as 0.81 W/m²K, up to 32 dB of sound reduction and security up to RC 2.
AT 530 · Aluminum
The best-insulated all-aluminum door on this page: a U-value as low as 0.75 W/m²K, up to 34 dB and RC 2. A strong pick for low-energy homes that want aluminum on both faces.
AT 540 · Aluminum
Flush on the inside and outside, so the door reads as one calm plane. U-value as low as 0.78 W/m²K, up to 34 dB, RC 2, with interior feature designs offered on selected models.
HT 400 · Timber/aluminum
Square-edged inside and out. Solid timber on the interior behind an aluminum shell, with a U-value as low as 0.73 W/m²K, up to 34 dB and RC 2.
HT 410 · Timber/aluminum

Thermally broken from frame to threshold
Heat leaves a door along its weakest line, usually the frame edge and the threshold. Internorm breaks that path everywhere: frame, door panel and even the threshold are thermally separated, so the cold outer aluminum never connects to the warm inner face.
The aluminum doors use a 3-chamber frame profile around an Internorm foam insulation core, sealed by triple gaskets that keep out moisture and cold air. The aluminum systems are 93 mm deep; the timber/aluminum systems range from 85 to 121 mm, bonding timber, thermal foam and aluminum into one insulating build-up.
In a January cold snap, that means a hallway without a cold zone, a door face warm enough to resist condensation, and less risk of frost along the bottom edge. InterHaus builds these doors to Passive House energy-efficiency requirements, with aluminum models reaching 0.75 W/m²K.

HT 400 and HT 410: timber inside, weather shell outside
Timber gives an entrance a warmth no other material matches, but exposed to Canadian sun, rain and freeze-thaw cycles it needs constant care. The HT series puts a durable aluminum panel outside and solid timber inside, with a thermal foam core between them, so the timber never faces the weather.
Choose spruce, larch, oak, ash or walnut for the interior, all from sustainable forestry. The HT 400 is square-edged inside and out; the HT 410 is flush on both faces and reaches 0.58 W/m²K, which is why Internorm recommends timber/aluminum doors for low-energy and Passive House homes. Pair either with timber/aluminum windows such as the HF 410 for one consistent look.
You design the face; we build the door around it
Start with the panel: fully solid for privacy, or glass inserts with obscure glazing to bring daylight into the hall. Then the surface: RAL colours in matt or gloss, textured finishes, texture with sparkle, and concrete or wood looks. Internorm’s special exterior decors include Art-Beton, Art-Corten, Art-Steel, Art-Stone, Art-Basalt, Art-Carrara and an antique wood surface.
Handles change the character of a door more than anything else. Choose bar handles in round, square or half-round sections up to 2,000 mm tall, flush recessed grips, push handles or lever sets, with LED-lit handles on selected models. Milled grooves, flush Alunox trims, raised stainless-steel strips or black aluminum trims add detail, and your house number can be engraved into the panel.

Security that starts with the standard lock
Every Internorm entrance door ships with a mechanical multi-point lock. From there you can add automatic or motorised locking and keyless entry.
Five locking points as standard
A main deadbolt, two steel bolts and two swivel latches, backed by three solid door hinges.
Protected cylinder
Steel pins resist picking and drilling. A high-security cylinder with a personal security card is available.
Tested up to RC 3
KFV locking systems are tested up to RC 3. The AT 500 is offered up to RC 3; the other models up to RC 2.
Finger scan or keypad
An ekey dLine fingerprint scanner or a keypad with up to 99 user codes opens a motorised lock without a key.
Opening restrictor
The TSH restrictor limits how far the door opens, switched on from inside with a turn knob.
Safety glass in inserts
Laminated glass stays in the frame when broken, held by a tear-resistant interlayer.
Locking options at a glance
Choose how the door locks and unlocks. All four use the same multi-point principle; the difference is how much the door does for you.

With small children, Internorm suggests EVE with a hidden or high switch, since an EVC door opens from inside with the lever.
Small details you will notice after five winters
The soft-lock latch closes gently and needs no oil, and the adjustable hinges let the installer re-tune the sash if the house settles. Every aluminum Internorm door carries a QR code in the rebate that links to product information and cleaning tips.
For busy entrances, I-tec Open adds an electronic day latch to aluminum doors: knock twice on the outside and the sash releases. Only a knock can trigger it, so wind cannot push the door open. It helps children, anyone with full hands and wheelchair users; see our I-tec innovations page.

All six doors include a five-point mechanical lock. For a street-facing or rural home that sits empty for long periods, the AT 500 is offered up to RC 3; the other models go up to RC 2. Laminated glass and a high-security cylinder add further protection.
